Ellis Automotive was founded by Rick Ellis in 1980. Having raced stock cars for several years prior to starting the company, Rick decided to apply his knowledge of racing to the automotive repair business. Rick comments: "Learning what it takes to keep a race car on the circuit, and in particular, what it takes to make a fast turn around in the pit and get back on the track, are skills that I felt could be applied to maintenance of passenger cars and trucks".

Over the three plus decades that the company has been in business, Rick's "pit crew style' of maintainence has caught on and the company has developed a local reputation for quick turn-around for most types of repairs. Repairs and maintenance are offered on foreign and domestic cars, light trucks, and SUV's.
